Surprise!!

So... about a week ago (Dec 11), we found out we are pregnant!  Yes, pregnant.  I feel like we didn't want to get to that stage for so long (almost 6 years of being married) that once we did start trying it would be quick... and I guess six months is pretty quick, but it doesn't feel that way when it seems like half the people you know (even your little sister's friends) are popping out kids right and left!

I had a sneaking suspicion I was preggo around December 7th or 8th, but I never want to get my hopes up, so I just let it go.  As the weekend went on - we were camping in freezing temperatures (in San Diego!) by the way - and Aunt Flo still made no appearance, the hopes did start to creep up a little.  By the time we got home Sunday I had to take a test and, Surprise!, it was positive!

Sort of shocking, even if you half expect it and have been trying for it...
We told our parents, Tricia and Brett that night, and further testing at the doctors confirmed the results on Tuesday. (Yay!!)  The hardest part is not shouting out the news at work, I'm pretty sure the incessant hunger and need to pee will give me away soon... who knew it happened so soon?

I also had to jump right on the photo documentary wagon, here's the "one month" photo (it is Christmas, I had to get the tree in there!), but I think I am going to do weekly shots going forward, I'm just barely getting used to the idea of being pregnant, now I have to make it (Pinterest) cute too!  (Not to mention, keep it under wraps from everyone for a couple more months... ah, difficult!)

One month... (about 4 weeks)
