Four Months... already?!

Can't believe Paige is already four months old (well at this point she is well on her way to four and a half, but who's counting?)!

Our little one is growing up so fast! She is getting ticklish and giggling now. She loves her bouncers (especially the door way one that she can spin around in), and she is going to be crawling before we know it.

Her little screams are the cutest thing. I am still getting the hang of figuring out if she is trying to tell me something or if she's just screaming because she likes the sound of it!

...more to come with better pictures. I promise!

Three months!

Ok. I agree, I am the worst. No update, but really, who knew a baby took up SO much time! That combined with handmaking all of my Christmas gifts this year is just taking up all of my time!

This month we tried some new things, including cloth diapers and wipes. Love the Grovia AI2 diapers, not loving the fuzzibunz (anyone want to buy some very gently used dipes?). And if you go cloth diaper, you have to go cloth wipe too. I mean seriously, where do you put a used baby wipe if you don't have a diaper rpro throw out?! My only "complaint" is they are a little bulky on skinny Paige and I feel like maybe she isn't rolling as much as she would in a slim diaper... but she moves quite a bit so I am not overly concerned :).

Month three also brought the idea of frugality around (hence the cloth). I really really want to stay home with Paige instead of going back to work, and I'm still figuring out how to make that work... guess only time will tell. No decisions made yet! Next month will be a better post, I promise, hopefully...

Two months!

I am super behind with this, but I did take some two month pictures! (Ok, she was two months and one day, but her two month imms kind of ruined her actual two month birthday!)  If you want more pictures, you can always look at my Instagram or Facebook, I'm sure everyone is getting tired of how many pictures I actually post, but Paige is just so cute, how can I resist!?

Easily Distracted...

Lots of new things this month... smiles, though they are usually too fast for me to capture in pictures; more chatting with mama and daddy; and baby pushups!  She's growing up so fast, it will be time for high school before we know it!  Lucky for me, I can still trick her into sleeping with the swing!

This month, most of my "favorites" were the same... lamb-y swing and cradle, Huggies, boppy pillow, but I have a few new ones!

New Mommy product - smells like chocolate, so problem is, sometimes I want to eat after applying...

Ergo carrier - Paige is still getting used to this, and the infant insert is a little bulky (lately we've been using some rolled up blankets instead), but it is comfy and easy to throw on. Plus I can feed Paige on the go in the carrier discreetly (no one at the craft store knew ;) ) and she usually falls asleep pretty quickly in it.  I also like my Moby, but it would be hard to put on in a parking lot!

Once Upon A Time - New show!  I've watched all the episodes though, so now I am eagerly waiting for Sunday to come!

Happy One Month Birthday!

The past month has flown by!  It has been tiring, exciting, and educational; but most of all, I think Scott and I are still pretty awed and amazed with this little baby we made!

So "photoshoot #1" didn't go quite as planned... I will try again with spousal support, but this is the good stuff so far.

Starting out ok, but red eyes make me look a little scary...

"Ok, Mom, I'm getting tired of this now..."

"Alright, put the camera down, I have had enough!"

So, that's how that ended... at least she took a nap later

Aw, sweet napping face!

A new baby means trying out lots of new things, this month, I had a few favorites:

Boppy Pillow: seriously, a lifesaver (well back saver really), this made breastfeeding so much more comfortable, and left a hand free to do things; like eat, read, and play on my phone!

Lamb-y swing and rocker: Paige does not like to lay flat, it wakes her up anytime we put her down, but, I found out she napped really well in her swing, and so we went out and got the matching cradle.  Happily, she likes the cradle too, and we have even been able to sleep in bed a few nights (well not the whole night, but we are working on it!!)!  I think she likes them because they keep her snugged up, just like someone is holding her (no word on whether this will kill any hopes we have of an easy transition to a different bed when she gets too big, but I'll take the sleep now, while I can).

Lansinoh Lanolin: Lets just say breastfeeding is *slightly* more painful at first than the world lets on, thank goodness for this stuff.

Seahorse: Paige likes this, it lights up and plays music, which actually distracts her for about 28 seconds... but I can get a lot done in 28 seconds!

Huggies with LEAK LOCK.  We received several different brands of diapers at showers, the hospital, etc. and the Huggies with Leak Lock are the best so far.  They have this nifty little "poo pocket" in the back, and that thing works like a charm!  I won't share pictures of the pocket in action, but I have them, ask Scott.

Last, but not least, Gossip Girl on Netflix.  No cable means I get to discover popular teenage shows from about 4 years ago!  Talk about teen soap opera with amazing fashion.  You know you love it, xoxo.

Welcome Home Baby Paige!!

So, baby Paige is one week old and we are adjusting to life at home with a baby that we are completely smitten with!
One week old
So far, she is really very good, most nights we have been able to get at least 4 straight hours of (mostly) uninterrupted sleep!  A little sadly, sleeping in bed has proved difficult, since it's a still a little tough for me to get sitting while holding Paige post C-section. I guess camping out on the couch will continue for a little while longer!  We also have to teach Paige to sleep without being held, since its been easier for me, while breastfeeding, to just keep holding her after she is done eating, she just sleeps on my tummy and the boppy pillow... working for right now, so I'll take it!

At the hospital

Sleepy time!
We have been lucky that Scott was able to take the week off to stay home.  He took such good care of me, and Paige, and got some serious diaper changing practice in!  It's sad he has to go back to work Monday, but at least we got some good family time in this week.

Paige got to go on lots of outings already, probably more than she will get in the next couple weeks before I can drive again (Three weeks, really? I'm not even taking good drugs!).  With both our doctors down the mountain, she got two trips down, a visit to Target and also a little trip to the village... getting out and about has proven a little harder for mommy than baby, but overall I feel great one week post-op!

We also had a visit from cousins to meet Paige, I'm sure she loves them, despite sleeping the whole time!

Can't wait to see what is in store for us!

Just one last picture for good measure!
